A real escape room is a game whose design is based on an example of video and computer games. It is not played in a virtual world with virtual characters, but in real time and space, with real co-players. This game is not about isolation and escape into virtual reality, but about pleasant socialising with friends, colleagues or family and exploring the real world.
Curiosity, playfulness as well as passion for challenges and fun is what it takes to enjoy an escape room. A team of 2–5 members is physically locked in the escape room. Your goal is to find the solution by solving the puzzles and riddles, and/or to break out from the room within the prescribed time. If you want to get out earlier (terminate the game) you can press the ‘red button’ at any time and escape immediately. The point of Kosovel’s Enigma escape room is not simply to solve the riddles and escape, but to spend quality time with each other, get to know each other better, co-operate and have great fun with others.
An outdoor escape room is very similar to a normal escape room. What is different is that it takes place in the open air. You will play the Escape from Gmajna game in a nearby Karst grassland, called gmajna, under the Tomaj sun, in the fresh Karst air.
You will meet him or her in Kosovel’s Enigma escape room and in the Escape from Gmajna outdoor escape room. This person will greet you, tell you all you need to know about the game and supervise it from a separate room. If you get lost and ask for help, he or she will give you a few hints.
While the goal of the escape room is to find a way out or solution, the goal of this game is to find treasure. The game is played in the open air, across the village of Tomaj. By solving several puzzles and riddles you will find the route to the treasure (Victoria’s Secret) and at the same time learn about Tomaj in an original and entertaining way. Stay tuned, soon we’ll be launching another treasure hunt in the Karst village of Štanjel.
You will meet him or her in the treasure hunt game named Victoria’s Secret. This person will greet you, tell you all you need to know about the game and supervise it from close proximity, offering help if needed. If you get lost and ask for help, he or she will give you a few hints.
Groups of 2–5 adults. (Clever teenagers are also welcome!)
2 to 5. Imagine playing the game alone: you probably won’t solve all the puzzles within the time limit, plus you’ll miss all the fun. And if there are more than 5 of you, someone would probably be bored. Thus, we recommend that larger groups are divided and a reservation is made for 2 games.
In principle, the games are designed for adults. Of course, independent children can join in. Children can exercise some pretty impressive logic in solving the puzzles and riddles. The good news is that we are already planning some games designed specifically for children.
Sure. Send us your enquiry and we’ll be more than happy to respond. We can organise a whole package of Karst experiences – including accommodation, culinary treats and authentic experiences.
Slovenian or English
No. But plain logic does help. And remember: the games are designed for groups; the point is to participate and have fun.
The games are intended for people in normal physical condition. If your group includes a physically-challenged person, please contact us and we’ll try to find a solution.
60 or 90 minutes. The game duration is stated specifically for each game. Please come to the agreed place 10 minutes before the game starts (15 minutes in the case of Escape from Gmajna).
The village of Tomaj (Karst, 6 km from the town of Sežana). For the game Kosovel’s Enigma, we meet in the Gostilna Tomaj inn (Tomaj 12), for Victoria’s Secret and Escape from Gmajna at Tomaj 105. Please meet us at the agreed place 10 minutes before the game starts.
Be comfortable and dress according to the weather. Victoria’s Secret: you will walk across the village so wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Escape from Gmajna: the game in the gmajna grassland is not physically strenuous; we have a 5-minute walk to the venue along a flat cart track; wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Kosovel’s Enigma: as if you were in your living room. 🙂
Kosovel’s Enigma is played in a room so it is not “weather-sensitive”. Victoria’s Secret and Escape from Gmajna are outdoor games. If the weather forecast is unsuitable for the game 24 hours before your scheduled time, we will postpone the game. We will reschedule the date in agreement with you by telephone or e-mail.
In our reservation system on this website. You can see real-time information regarding the availability of dates. The system can be accessed after clicking on each game.
The sooner, the better. 24 hours before the date at the latest. Please check our reservation system for the availability of a desired date.

With pleasure! You can choose from our offer (e.g. games) or the full package – with accommodation, culinary treats and autochthonous experiences. Contact us and we will make a proposal for a memorable Karst experience – tailored to your desires.
Both. All puzzles and riddles are connected with the Karst and Tomaj. They are designed to encourage co-operation (and not competition!) in good company. They help you unveil the hidden Karst and turn an hour or two into an exciting and pleasant Karst experience.
The point of our games is fun, co-operation with your fellow players and playful unveiling of the hidden Karst. Only the best achieve the goal within the time limit (some even sooner). During the game, you will have the option to ask the treasure hunt master or game master for help or hints. That is why we do not return money if you fail to find the treasure or escape from the room within the stated time.
No. 🙂 Because, we’re sure that when you read an exciting book or watch an interesting film you do not really want to know before what happens at the end, do you? We want to offer a truly top-notch, personalised and unique Karst experience, where you and your group can learn what it means to “unveil the hidden Karst”.
